Hot Spring
Kaikake Onsen
It is said that Kenshin Uesugi, who was a famous military commander in the Sengoku period often soaked in this spa to relieve his stress and fatigue. It has over 700 years of history, this onsen was promoted as a medicinal aid for eye ailments.
Matsunoyama Onsen
One of the three top medicated bath in Japan. It is located in a valley with deep snowfall on the border of Niigata and Nagano Prefectures. This hot spring has strong medicinal effects, a high salt content, known for higher temperature.
Tsukioka Onsen
It contains sodium, chloride, and the highest sulfur concentration of all hot springs in Japan, making it one of the top hot springs for skin beautifying effect.
Sightseeing spot
Lake Daigenta
This lake dam was constructed to prevent erosion at the base of Mount Daigenta. the suspension bridge around the lake, can be walked in about thirty minutes. It’s also known for autumn leaves.
Dragondola
The longest gondola lift in Japan measuring 5,481 m. It takes 25 minutes to travel between Naeba and Tashiro from the lift.
Sake Museum Ponshu-kan
It is located inside of JR Echigo Yuzawa station. You can taste over 90 varieties sake of factory in Niigata,and you can also take a dip in a bath of sake next-door.
Kiyotsukyou Gorge
Kiyotsukyou Gorge is one of Japan's three major canyons. "Kiyotsukyo" is specified in the Joshinetsu Kogen National Park in September 1949, You can see the majestic scenery from four locations in Kiyotsukyo valley tunnel.
Yuzawa fishing park
This park is a popular place for fishing in the middle of the great outdoors of Yuzawa. People can enjoy fishing in the flowing mountain streams. All tools for fishing and barbecuing are provided.
Yuzawa Nakazato Snow Resort
It is a great alpine resort accessible by the one of the world’s biggest ropeways with a capacity of 166 passengers. A lot of activities in both summer and winter, it’s also a nice place to enjoy the alpine plant garden and abundant nature with family or friends.

FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL
FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL is an annual rock festival held in Naeba Ski Resort, features more than 200 Japanese and international musicians, making it the largest outdoor music event in Japan.
Nagaoka firework festival
The Nagaoka Festival is one of three top fireworks extravaganzas in Japan, it actually originated as a restoration event held in memory of those who passed away at the Nagaoka Air Raid, the fireworks here are launched as a memorial service and dedicated to peace and recovery.
Ojiya balloon festival
Japan’s representative hot air balloon competition the “Sea of Japan Cup Cross Country Championship” is the main event of this festival, features the firework and lighting show, creating a fantastic world at night time.
Tsunotsuki
One of the Nationally-designated Important intangible cultural property “Tsunotsuki” in Nagaoka ,it’s a Japanese traditional event with a thousand-year history where two exceptionally strong-spirited bulls fight with each other.
Gourmet
Rice
Niigata is proud to be one of the top rice, Koshihikari production area in Japan. Grown using pure water from melted snow from the Echigo Mountains, Koshihikari rice is known for its high quality and excellent flavor.
Hegi soba
In Niigata, it was mainly produced in an area called Uonuma. Because Uonuma people did not grow buckwheat, the people of the region added seaweed to add flavor and texture instead. Hegi soba gets its name from the dish in which it’s served
Wild Vegetable
Because of abundant natural resource, wild vegetables and mushrooms are very easy to find in the mountain surrounding Yuzawa. They are often sold at farmer’s markets where you can enjoy these wild gifts from the nature.
Japanese Sake
Niigata is endowed with naturally fertile land for producing quality crops of rice. Besides melted snow also provided pure and clear water, that are main ingredient for sake. Therefore, there are over 90 sake breweries and famous for producing some of the country’s top quality sake.
Tsumari pork
It is awarded The 36th Japanese Agriculture award. Tsumari pork is has less acidity than other varieties and can be aged, increasing the tenderness and flavor of the meat. Its fat is flavorful and has a low melting point which helps it melt deliciously in your mouth.
Echigohime Strawberries
Strawberries named by the governor of Niigata because of it's seemly "sweetness like a young princess of Niigata".It is raised in winter of low temperatures and little sunlight have little acidity and high sweetness.
